Farmer Life 168

 I haven't had time to edit pictures this week, so I'm just now getting to this. All four kids are tasting their mom's food already!  Hubby taking a selfie with our red girl.   I'm leaning heavily toward Andesine for her name... I'm sorry, but goat kids are the CUTEST!!! We opened up the yards for all four kids so they can start getting some exercise.  First up Garnet's kids.  I love Garnet's expression!  Next up are Topaz's kids.  Sorry this is so dark.  They are so cute!  Tanzanite kept trying to jump over her brother hehe.  She hopped up on the table so fast. Her brother took a while, but eventually they both got up there. Aren't they so cute??

Two and a half weeks ago Apatite died after spending four days at the emergency vet.  They did everything they could to save him, but it wasn't enough.  I am heartbroken.  He was only five months old.  It's taken me a long time to be able to post this, but I have to get it over with at some point.  Just seeing his picture again has me in tears so I'll keep this short.

Since Jasper's kids have been getting all the screen time, I figured he deserved an update too.  I knew he'd gotten big, but I didn't realize how big until I saw him next to the does for the first time in a long time.  These pictures were taken on the 27th, two days before Garnet had her kids.  Sorry for posting things out of order. I love these next pictures. Jasper stood up on the branch and his weight lowered it within reach of the does.  They all came running.  It was so funny!!!  It was almost like he did it on purpose to attract the girls hehe.    He really does like standing up on the trees hehe. He's only fourteen months old so he has a lot of growing to do, but he is starting to look more like a mature buck. Below are the pictures hubby took with his cell phone, so they start over in order again.  You can see a bit of Topaz behind him.  He dwarfs her!  I love Amethyst's expression.  First off, sorry these are crappy cell phone pictures.  We are going to get their outside pen secured (the holes are too big and I don't want them getting stepped on by the horses) today so they can start going outside and I'll get good pictures with the real camera.  Second these pictures are from various days this last week.  I have the dates, but I'm not going to post them because it's really not that big of a deal.  Enjoy! It's difficult getting a picture of them nursing at the same time.  Napping babies are adorable.  I love how he sleeps using his own body as a pillow hehe.  Looks so uncomfortable.  Tanzanite was bound and determined to get in the feeder.... while brother is just eating as usual hehe.  They are already turning into spoiled lap goats like Amethyst.  So blurry, but SO adorable!!!!  At six days old she finally made it into the feeder!!  She is so proud of herself! Garnet had twins too!!!!!  A boy and a girl and the girl was born first and is bigger, just like with Topaz's kids.  So funny how it works out like that.  The girl is the beautiful red one which is super exciting because the reds are my mom's favorite color.  I've been hoping we would have a red one for that reason.  I know color isn't important, but if it makes my mom happy (she likes to admire them from afar) it makes me happy.  She always jokes that she can't tell them apart or remember all of their names, but this red girl will be easy to spot in a crowd of Boers hehe.  Speaking of names... we're having trouble deciding.  Check out our choices at the bottom of the post and please help me decide!  Here are the rest of the pictures.  Sorry they are bad cell phone pictures.  I will have to get the camera out eventually...
