Jack Update!


In the winter Jack stays in his indoor cage so that he doesn't freeze to death. I have a video with a few clips of him being his adorable self.


If you can't watch videos here are some pictures.  They aren't very good, but still better than nothing.  Isn't he adorable?

I love this little guy. He's so awesome!  Sorry it's been so long since I updated about Jack.  I don't have a whole lot of time for editing videos.  At least you can see how well he is doing now.

Pregnant Does

 My Amethyst is SO adorable!! These pictures were taken on the 14th of January.  I just haven't had time to post them until now.  I'm posting these so that around mid January we can compare pictures to show you how much bigger they have gotten as they get closer to their due dates. Does due in February are... Coral.  This picture does not do her justice.  She is HUGE! She was being skittish because I was using my phone camera with no zoom instead of the real camera so I didn't get any other pictures of her, so here is an old one from the beginning of January. She is enormous.  I have my fingers crossed that she has twins this time.  I don't remember her being this big with Amethyst.  She's only ever had single births as far as we know, so I'm really hoping for twins.  Having singles can be hereditary and I'm hoping Amethyst doesn't take after her mom on that.  Single births are not ideal because you spend the same amount of money to feed...

New car!!!

After ten years I finally had to say goodbye to my fifteen year old Rodeo!  I'd been driving this car since my early twenties.  In fact it was only the third car I'd ever had.  My first car was an 80 something Chevy Celebrity which I only had for a year or so and my second car was an old, beat up crappy Pontiac Grand Am that I had for around four years.  I kept it after I got the Rodeo and hubby drove it for a while before he traded it in for the HHR he has now. So I'd been driving the Rodeo for ten years.  It never bothered me how outdated it was.  Heck it had a cassette player that didn't even work the entire time I owned it!!  The main thing that bothered me was the blower motor was going out so even though the heat/air worked it didn't blow air unless I kicked the motor under the dash on the passenger side which didn't always work, so that meant lots of trips to work shivering.  We got a new blower motor, but didn't have time to replace it....

The boys' conquests!

Amethyst has the most gorgeous eyes!!!! Anyway, to the point of this post.  The goats have been paired off for next year's kids.  See below for the latest match ups. Daniel, our Myotonic buck, wearing his marking harness and ready to get down to business.  He has successfully bred the following does.  Our Myotonic doe Zephyr. Our other Myotonic doe Georgia.  Our Boer doe Tanzanite. Our Boer doe Andesine. We have to breed Tanzy and Andesine to Daniel because they are related to all of our Boer bucks.  We will have to get an unrelated Boer buck for next year. Last, but not least, our 50/50 Boer/Myotonic doe Amethyst.  Am I biased when I saw she's one of the most gorgeous goats we have?? Next up Jasper is being bred to all of the same does as last year.  Excuse Jasper's dirty face.  He looks so good!  He's getting bigger.  He was already over two hundred pounds, so I'm curious how big he's gotten now.  Below are his match ups. ...
