More baby pictures!

Gambar
First a picture of Peter.  He's a very good babysitter.  He isn't mean to the kids at all.  He will do a great job teaching them how to be proper goats.  Doesn't he look so much like his mom Amethyst? Now pictures of the kids.  She was chewing on my pants... yes I was wearing blue plaid sweats and cowgirl boots lol. Both kids are actually drinking little bits of water already.  They taste everything too, but they mostly just gum on stuff.  They haven't figured out eating solids yet.  This is the expression he gives me when I tell him no.  He's very offended!  So spoiled!!!!  So cute he gets away with it though.  Playing on rocks like proper goats.  I love watching their acrobatics.  Isn't she cute sticking her tongue out??  Gumming on leaves.  Also gumming on leaves.  Always with the tongue.  So adorable!  They have the cutest faces and longest, most adorable ears!  She's zeroing in on an...

Kamikaze

Gambar
In case you're new to the blog, let me introduce Kamikaze.  We bought him as a future herd sire for our Myotonic herd.  When we brought him home he had silver moonspots.  This is the day we brought him home.    They definitely started out silver, but over time I started noticing some cream color showing up in it.  Then all of a sudden without me even noticing his moonspots had turned a chocolate brown!! Ignore his wet fur, it was raining earlier in the day. They are so dark you can barely see them in low light or when he's wet.  I've read that goats coloring darkens with age, but I definitely wasn't expecting him to go from such a light silver to such a dark brown.  It's cool huh??  I kind of like the chocolate better I think hehe.  I don't really care what color he is as long he's healthy and stays such a sweetheart.  It's just fascinating!  Kind of the opposite of what happened when my horse went gray, just a lot quicke...

Big Mama's Kids

Gambar
I'm not going to write much in this post.  I just want to share pictures.  These are Big Mama's kids.  They are being bottle fed, but they did get plenty of colostrum since they were able to nurse for a couple of days off of their mom.  They are doing really well.  Bottle feeding has never been my favorite thing (makes goat kids really needy), but it's necessary when they are orphaned.  It's exhausting, but worth it because these kids are so sweet and adorable.  To make sure that they learn to be goats we banded (castrated) Peter (Amethyst's other buckling) and moved him in with them a couple of days ago (when the kids were about a week and a half).  He will teach them how to eat and behave like goats.  I'll get new pictures as soon as I can, but for now all I have are these from when they were about a week old.  The dark one is the buckling and the blonde is the doeling. Are they not completely and totally adorable?????
