Just had to share my first selfie with Amethyst! I'll definitely have more videos and pictures this weekend.  She is SO much fun!!  No matter how bad my day at work is I can go sit in the hay and play with my baby goat and it's all good again.  :D

To my surprise Coral didn't get up when we went in. Coral and Amethyst are doing great! I'm still going to do a post to show a video of her labor and birth, but I'm having to figure out how to convert some files, so it will have to wait.  I'll just share pictures and video from today with Amethyst.  Your baby is not a pillow hehe. Coral is still tired, but they are both doing great.  I LOVE watching Amethyst play and explore.  I forgot how much fun goat kids are.  I LOVE her racing stripes on her ears. We gave them the first day alone together to bond, but today it was time to start socializing Amethyst so she doesn't end up feral like her mom.  Coral doesn't like it, humans still stress her out, but she didn't fight us.  She just watched closely and talked under her breath to her baby.  Hubby giving Amethyst a cuddle.   Ammy doesn't like being held, but she quickly gives up struggling.  She will get used to it.  I couldn't tell rig...

 Look at that cute mustache and the white marks on the  back of her ears that we're calling her racing stripes hehe.  So cute! Our first baby of 2017 is here!!!!  Say hi to Amethyst!  Coral gave birth to this adorable girl at 5:09 this morning.  From the time she started pushing to the time Amethyst popped out was less than four minutes!  Very impressive.  She's definitely an experiences mother.  I'll tell you more about the birth in a later post once I get done editing videos. We let her handle the birth since things were going so smoothly, then we went in to dry off the baby because it was in the mid twenties Fahrenheit.  We dried her, tied off/cut/dipped her umbilical and then started trying to help her nurse.  It was so frustrating.  We couldn't get any milk out and Amethyst was just confused on what she was supposed to do although she definitely had a very strong sucking reaction.  Coral was tense and getting stressed...

Here are the rest of the pictures.  There are a bunch of him with the acorn, because it's so much easier to get pictures of him then when he's not jumping and leaping about. I love these next two shots.  He looks like he's playing basketball with his acorn lol. Doesn't it look like he's preparing to shoot some hoops? Or there is this one where it looks like he's about to hike a football. I should photoshop a jersey on him lol.  What is REALLY cute is when he "buries" his acorn..... Hiding it in the leaves.... but even though it is in plain sight to us, to him it is invisible.  I've even seen him forget where he buried it... even though it's in plain sight lol.   This cracked me up.  He was sitting in my lap with his acorn.... Then he turned his back to me and "buried" it.....  I still see it Jack!!  Hehe.  Where did your acorn go buddy? Don't worry I gave it back to him. I had fun with weird angles.  I hope your internet is fast because I'm about to spam you with a ton of squirrel cuteness!! These pictures are from October 8th (I haven't had time to edit them) and these were the first pictures I took of Jack with an actual camera instead of a cell phone.  I had so much fun!!  We were sitting outside on the patio furniture so he could soak up some sunshine and so I could take pictures.  I might have to split this into two posts because there are so many.  Enjoy!!
